BEACHES
Chambers Landing	Located next to Chambers Landing restaurant on Hwy 89, this sandy beach is a local favorite.  There is a special area for kids to swim safely and concessions are available at the Dock Bar.
Commons Beach	This family-friendly beach has shallow water for kids to wade in, offers free movies and concerts during summer and hosts a farmer's market every week in the parking lot.  It is located behind the Tahoe City Fire Department.  No concessions are available.  You can bring your own food as long as you clean up after yourself.
Carnelian Bay Beach	This beach gets alot of sunshine.  It is located by Gar Woods & Sierra Boat Company.  Kayak rentals are available and food can be found at Gar Woods.
Tahoe Vista/Moon Dunes Beach	This is a secluded beach in Tahoe Vista.  You need to hike to get to this beach, but its worth it.  Portable restrooms are available but there are no concessions.  Visitors need to bring their own food and water.
Kings Beach State Recreation Area	Great swimming and volleyball and basketball courts are available right off Hwy 28, in the middle of Kings Beach.  Attend the Farmer's Market every Tuesday, view a movie Tuesday evening and enjoy concerts on Thursdays.  Delicious burgers and Mexican food abound nearby.
Speed Boat Beach/Buck's Beach	A little trek is needed to enjoy this secluded beach: turn right just west of the Cal Neva casino and take a small road until you reach the beach.  No dogs allowed.
Sand Harbor	Located outside Incline Village, this wonderful sandy beach offers gorgeous sunsets and mountain vistas worthy of the small fee you need to pay.  Enjoy outdoor concerts and the Shakespeare Festival in the summertime.
